We are Lot Squared Development (lotsquared.com), an established but growing luxury and boutique home developer in Washington DC, and we are looking for a Senior Revit Drafter to join our team full-time (40 hours per week).

The job is remote/work-from-home and regular work hours are 9am to 6pm EST Monday through Friday.

This is a production role under the guidance of our Senior Architectand will work closely with our Architecture and Design teams to draft schematics and accurate plans in Revit. The Senior Revit Drafter also performs administrative duties and cost analyses as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

1) Existing conditions: Work with architect to successfully capture, model, and draw accurate existing conditions of structures as-is

Trace existing conditions based on scanned PointCloud data
Create objects (e.g. windows, walls, doors) in Revit to exactly match what is in field
Produce plan sections and elevations from Revit models

2) Architecture and design coordination

Coordinate design-related activities among different stakeholders (e.g. management, designer, architect)
Review shop drawings from fabricators and subcontractors (eventually, but not on day one)
Perform department-related administrative, communication, or coordination duties as needed

3) Cost Management

Assist design team in keeping design decisions within allocated budget line items
Perform cost analyses as needed

4) Plan Development

Maintain product selection schedules and other auxiliary tables/figures in building plans
Research technical details online as required
Develop full sets of plans for smaller projects (eventually, but not on day one)

Technical Qualifications

Basic knowledge of wood construction required
Basic knowledge of residential practices for a U.S. market; intermediate to advanced knowledge preferred
Working knowledge of Revit 2020 or later required
Strong ability to interpret shop plans from fabricators and subcontractors required
Experience drafting construction-ready plans for the field team required
Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting PointCloud data required

Additional Qualifications

Able to work reliably during our US business hours of 9am – 6pm EST (with 1 hour break) Monday – Friday. This is not negotiable.
At least 5 years’ work experience as a drafter or architect.
Strong English skills.
A dedicated remote office with a reliable work computer and internet connection.

Compensation

Commensurate with market rates and experience
Mix of hourly pay and discretionary bonus
