Responsibilities:
Position Purpose:
The Director: Training and Development will be responsible for establishing and launching a Professional Education Initiative at LUMS SOE. S/he will work closely with the Dean SOE, Associate Director SOE and Manager Partnerships in execution of the training program to ensure it remains aggressive, challenging and serious for practice experience.
1) Professional Education Initiative/Centre
Establish, develop and launch the Professional Education Initiative at LUMS SOE that will enable the School to build relationships with existing and new education sector clients to further its educational mission. Learning and development programmes will assist the participants to:
i. Understand the crucial role of a head in the development and planning processes of the professional educational institution
ii. Enhance learning in Leadership and Management and train participants in their roles responsibilities in view of the new learning
iii. Acquire monitoring and evaluation, and data analysis skills for improving the quality of education as well as administrative procedures
iv. Explore and design strategies for strengthening school improvement initiatives.
2) Learning and Development -- Content Development and Trainings
The training program is a foundational component of the SOE Partnership and Engagement Program (PEP) which aims to bridge the necessary skills required and respective roles of teacher trainers and educational leadership. In this job, the Director: Training and Development has to work closely with the steering committee of PEP (comprised of the SOE Dean, SOE Associate Director, Director Teaching and Learning, the faculty at SOE and manager partnerships) to
i. Conduct training needs analysis and intervention planning for public and privateeducation sector departments, organizations, school networks
ii. Design training plans and learning objectives for the program using latest instruction system design (ISD) models
iii. Develop training material and activities for course content
iv. Implement long and short duration training programs by mentoring and upskilling new trainers, facilitating communication workshops and providing professional grooming to the clients
v. Create performance review descriptors to evaluate the effectiveness of the training program
