RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing the local finance team of people to deliver timely, accurate and reliable month-end and year-end reporting in accordance with local and international (IFRS) reporting standards and group accounting policy.
- Cashflow forecasting, treasury management and the management of accounts receivable and accounts payable to optimize the company’s working capital.
- Developing a strong relationship with the local accounting and tax advisers, including the management of the company’s annual statutory audits, to ensure that the company is compliant with all respective laws and regulations.
- Collaborating with central and regional teams to standardise and enhance internal processes and controls. This will include the management of internal audits to ensure compliance at a local level with the Group’s risk management framework
- Working together with colleagues in regional and central teams to implement a new financial accounting and HR system during 2019 (most likely Workday)
- Supporting the Country Manager and Regional teams with the preparation of the annual budget and mid-year forecast.
THE CANDIDATE
- The role requires:
- A relevant accounting qualification with good passes at each stage
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial accounting roles, coming from a role where you managed a team of accountants and accounts clerks.
- A hands-on financial accountant with strong technical skills including experience of managing corporation and sales taxes.
- A good grasp of internal processes and controls and the importance of these to building a sustainable and scalable business without stifling the ability of the business to be entrepreneurial
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on task completion.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent English
