Responsibilities:

Collaborating with and working on cross-functional teams, including production/operation engineers and managers as well as other business personnel, with the aim of achieving the following main objectives:
To improve the familiarity of all relevant stakeholders with thepotential use and expected benefits of data.
To increase the productivity of production lines.
To improve the quality of products.
To reduce total delivery costs.
Analysing data from various sources in order to extract useful and valuable insights.
Developing models that predict machine failures and quality defects in advance.
Performing diagnostic analytics on machines’ historical data in order to identify the top reasons for machines’ failures and quality defects.
Developing models that provide real-time forecasts of the need for spare part replacements.
Developing models that provide dynamic market forecasting.
Sharing and communicating any data-driven findings and conclusions amongst all relevant stakeholders.
The tasks above will be performed in a diverse set of businesses/industries (e.g., manufacturing, power generation and water distribution).

Basic Qualifications:

A degree (preferably MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or related fields.
A good understanding of, and practical/academic experience with, machine-learning, time series forecasting, and statistical analysis.
Proficiency in the use of R or Python (or similar languages) for data analysis.
Some experience with data visualisation libraries and tools (e.g., D3.js or Qlik Sense).
A genuine curiosity in and passion for data, and a proven problem- solving ability.
Strong communication and data presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
Excellent written and verbal fluency in English (fluency in Arabic is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Big Data projects and hands-on experience with Big Data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Flink, Storm and Samza).
Experience in a manufacturing industry or experience with data analytics in a diverse set of domains/industries.
Familiarity with cloud-based environments, such as Azure and AWS.
