You should love all aspect of front end development and constantly be reading up on the newest techniques and optimizations and be willing to share them with the rest of the team. You stay cool under pressure and love working with the rest of the team to ensure that we deliver world-class quality on time.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of front-end developers and work with them to cultivate new skills
Develop front-end layouts using XHTML, CSS & JavaScript (JQuery and other libraries).
Appropriate use of hooks in HTML to limit the amount of classes and ID's.
Deep understanding of CSS inheritance and how to use it to your advantage.
Always weed out extraneous markup.
A good ideology for managing maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code across large sites.
In-depth knowledge of IE quirks and how to address them.
Experience working with jQuery and advanced JavaScript.
Utilize CSS3 while maintaining fallback for browsers that don't support it.
Ready to take advantage of HTML5 as the spec is finalized.
Assess requirements and provide time estimates to project managers.
Meet the design requirements to integrating code with the back-end development team.
Ensure that front-end layouts are fully compatible across major browsers
Take complete responsibility and ownership over your work and that of your team.
Raise awareness of new technologies and development methodologies.

Requirements

Extensive experience with XHTML and CSS, which includes the ability to cleanly hand code table-less, cross browser and cross platform compatible pages.
Advanced JavaScript knowledge, including experience and comfort with jQuery or any other library.
Meticulous attention to detail (pixel-perfect translation of mockups to working sites).
Strong background with the Adobe Suite, with particular emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop.
Knowledge of best practices regarding W3C standards, SEO, and accessibility.
Knowledge of Flash & ActionScript is a major plus.
A visible passion for the web and new and emerging technology.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced team oriented environment.
