Optometric Technician

A non-for-profit organization engaged in support of vulnerable communities through its programmes for Orphan kind, Thirst Relief, Emergency Response, Healthcare and Feed Our World in various areas all over the country. Organization requires services of “OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN”, duties of that position could be as under but not limited to these:

With the guidance of Programme Officer, the Optometric Technician will plan and design the Eye Camps in deserving communities, schools and other institutions in far-off areas of Pakistan and AJK.
Carry out need assessment of communities to analyze Eye treatment needs.
Coordinate with government schools and line departments for organizing eye camps.
Perform vision tests and analyze results
Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
Prescribe eyeglasses, and medications
Establish referral mechanisms with other actors working on eye health care for the referral of critical cases.
Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases and refer patients to other health care providers for surgeries.
Prescribe pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery and carry out follow-ups of such patients.
Responsible for Mobile Eye Unit, Its equipment, material and medicine.
Manage all the logistics required for conducting eye camps.
Keep all record of patients, beneficiaries, medicine.
Manage all record of eye camps for programme evaluation and Audit purpose.
Furnish reports as per programme requirement including event reports, periodic reports etc.
The position will ensure PennyAppeal Pakistan branding and visibility at all stages of projects.
The position will document bottlenecks, problems and issues/gaps, and proposes effective solutions.
Perform any other duty assigned by line Supervisor.
Review feedback received from field and ensure its standard as per SOPs for submission to PM.
