As per the above mentioned designations in the Audit & Assurance Department of KPMG Pakistan,my responsibilities include:
Managing, planning, supervision and review of different assignments involving statutory audits, interim reviews, and legislative certifications in compliance with IFRS and ISA;
Performing fieldwork on assigned clients (controls and substantive testing), assisting the audit managers with the setting of budgets and pricing, scheduling audits, selecting staff and assigning workloads;
Drawing initial conclusions on client queries, being alert to both commercial concerns and technical accuracy with reference to the International Financial Reporting Standards and reporting to managers and partners, for their review and approvals;
Identifying issues for reporting in the management letter, and other communications with management, and drafts the final documents for review by manager and partner;
Budgeting time allocation to assignments and explaining variances from budget;
Assessing compliance with regulations and controls by executing audit program steps, examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation and providing advice in this regards;
I am appointed as Assistant manager in external audit and handling different assignments from audit to reporting.
Assessing risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance, evaluating manual and automated financial processes, identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies. Further, reporting recommendations on systems of internal controls to those charged with governance;
Communicating audit progress and findings by providing information in status meetings, highlighting unresolved issues, reviewing working papers and analyzing strategic aspect of the planning;
Involved in decision making process of various accounting, auditing, client handling and team management challenges during audit engagements;
Communication with management of the clients and leading the discussions about the audit issues identified during the audits and presenting the solutions in accordance with the guidelines of the International Financial Reporting Standards and local GAAPs;
Leading teams on the ground and reporting directly to the manager and partner;
Building relationships with the client staff and acting as an ambassador for the firm.
Preparing management reports to ensure operational effectiveness.
Preparing budgets on monthly basis and performing variance analysis for management decision making.
