I am writing to express my keen interest in the Livelihood Coordinator position at WHH, as advertised. With over two decades of experience in the development sector, specifically focusing on Livelihood and climate resilience projects management, I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to your esteemed organization's mission of enhancing community resilience.
Currently, I hold a senior role as a grants manager/livelihood with the National Poverty Graduation Programme (NPGP), a USD 150 million initiative led by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Pakistan. In this capacity, I oversee partnerships totaling USD 20 million, providing strategic input on the design, planning, and execution of economic resilience, climate-smart Agriculture and other livelihood activities for poverty-reduction vulnerable communities.
In my current role, I oversee the development and application of a comprehensive knowledge management system that is accessible to all staff and stakeholders, aiming to generate evidence for program effectiveness and facilitate learning across all livelihood-related activities. I provide support in conducting research and market assessments for livelihood opportunities and value chains. I provide vital technical guidance and support to partner organizations, leading training sessions and capacity-building activities to equip partners with the necessary skills for successful livelihood intervention implementation. My responsibilities also include monitoring and evaluating partner performance to ensure alignment with project goals and donor requirements, conducting regular field visits, and managing communications, challenges, and relationships to enhance partner capacity and project sustainability. I ensure thorough documentation and reporting of activities and outcomes, support budget management and resource allocation, and continuously refine partnership strategies to maximize the impact and sustainability of our initiatives.
My role also includes providing extensive technical support to partner organizations, planning, designing, implementing, and supervising project activities with a focus on livelihood and grant management. With specialised training received in climate-smart agriculture from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), I am skilled in implementing climate-smart agriculture practices, enhancing sustainable livelihoods, and bolstering economic resilience within vulnerable communities through targeted capacity building and expert technical guidance.
With 14 years of proven project management experience, including managing partners in both the southern and northern districts of KPK Province as part of the National Poverty Graduation Programme (NPGP), I have finely honed the skills and knowledge that align closely with the responsibilities of the Livelihood Coordinator position. I possess a deep understanding of both the challenges and opportunities present in the province.
As a Regional Head at SPO, I gained valuable experience in stakeholder coordination which includes, government line departments, political leaders, NGOs, budget management, work planning, and the implementation of complex projects.
Furthermore, my expertise in market assessment and skills development directly supports the livelihood strategies outlined in the BRAVE project. I have successfully conducted market assessments for employable skills, facilitated partnerships with renowned institutions, and developed SME models tailored to local market dynamics. This aligns perfectly with the job description's emphasis on conducting assessments, providing technical support, and building capacities for sustainable livelihood practices.
I am well-versed in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, emails, and online applications including Management Information System (MIS) and HRMIS. My academic background includes a master’s degree in Anthropology from Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad, during which I conducted six months of field research and compiled a thesis relevant to my current field.
In conclusion, my extensive experience, coupled with my passion for driving sustainable change in the livelihood sector and enhancing community resilience against climate-related challenges, makes me a strong candidate for the Livelihood Coordinator position at WHH. I am eager to leverage my skills and expertise to contribute meaningfully to the objectives of the BRAVE project.
