Ms. Sarah Ehsan, a development practitioner and researcher, has been associated with the development sector for over 5 years with diverse experience in programme implementation, research and proposal writing, reporting, capacity building training, conflict resolution, team management, policy/advocacy, and behavior change campaigns addressing water and sanitation issues, Climate Change, Child Labor, Gender Based Violence, and Child Early and Forced Marriages focusing more on the rights of adoloscents, women and PWD’s, transgender persons and minorities under the umbrella of Sustainable Developments Goals (SDG’s).
As a Research Associate for the Climate Change Diploma Programme, I have the primary role of contributing to the development of the course structure for the diploma program while also conducting data analysis and facilitating coordination among project staff. My responsibilities encompass reviewing existing climate change curricula, designing data collection tools, identifying barriers related to climate change, assisting in the creation of course modules, developing informational materials, participating in curriculum review committees, and engaging in consultation workshops. Additionally, I oversee the diploma course curriculum, identify research areas in climate change, write proposals for projects, develop Climate Change training manuals, support capacity-building activities, aid in communication and advocacy efforts, and assist with project reporting and assessments.
Worked as a principal trainer for capacity building of Afghani/Pakistani youth in the project “Fighting the impact of Covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan” by CEIF, IMSciences.
Worked remotely as a research assistant (external consultant) in the evaluation of the project Local Government II (LoGo II).
My role and responsibilities as a Research Assistant in the research project “Achieving SDG 6: Inclusive Governance of Urban Water & Sanitation” at the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar includes providing support in arranging, organizing, and documenting different internal and external meetings and events, preparing meeting minutes, report writing, research and articles writing, and policy analysis relevant to the project.
As a District Manager, I spearheaded community engagement and project activities, focusing on inclusivity and advocacy. My leadership included training over 420 youth volunteers, strengthening ties with government departments, and resolving 430 disputes across various social issues. Notably, I ensured all activities complied with quality and safeguarding standards, especially in children\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s rights and protection. My contributions were recognized with the “Shining star of the British Council” award, and I successfully facilitated support for 35 PWDs and rescued 35 children from child labor, promoting their return to education.
Worked as Master Trainer on Menstrual Hygiene Management and Sustainable Climate Change, Climate Advocacy, Climate Resilience and Disasters Risk Reduction (DRR), trained over 200 people including government officials, civil society, Community women and influential, minorities and people with different abilities, over 300 students and 150 government school female teachers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Supported in the development of a Behavior Change Communication (BCC) strategy and action plan. Provided technical assistance in community sensitization and mobilization and behavior change communications to the targeted population. Worked with key stakeholders and the project team to develop IEC/BCC material and related guidelines and tools to facilitate awareness-raising efforts. Provided support in organizing seminars and training workshops. Worked with the women vulnerable group of the community, advocating for safe WASH.
