• Plans, schedules, coordinates and provides work guidance for the preparation of studies, designs, reports, correspondence, statistics or other presentations to assure adequacy and conformance to overall objectives in the solution of safety engineering problems.
• Formulates and/or guides the formulation of the basis for engineering studies or projects in any of the areas of safety engineering and assures analysis and evaluation as to scope, effect on existing installation, economic value, long-range planning and budgetary considerations.
• Discusses, coordinates activities, and resolves loss prevention problems; developing factual and objective information so that those who have the ultimate decision-making responsibility can make sound decisions concerning the appropriate action to be taken.
Participates in the necessary measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of any assigned safety management programs or procedures developed or modifications necessary to achieve optimum results
• Reviews technological developments and equipment to keep up-to-date on the devices and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize hazards and determines whether these developments and techniques have application in the Company.
• Serves as a consultant to purchasing, standards, and methods to incorporate the applicable safety and health requirements in all purchasing and contracting specifications as assigned.
• Develops and promotes on- off-job safety education material and programs for all Company employees Develops and recommends safety standards, codes, and procedures that become part of the operating instructions of the company.
