•Allot hostel rooms to the students, guest rooms to the guest and supervise them and take disciplinary action on any unauthorized student or guest in the absence of warden.
•Develop and ensure maintenance of Discipline in and around the hostel.
•Maintain contact with the Warden and provost on a regular basis.
•Check hostel, note and report necessary repairs to the maintenance section using the repair request forms.
•Ensure discipline and cleanliness at the hostel and also that hostel gates are closed at instructed hours.
•On behalf of warden and provost, the assistant warden takes disciplinary action against students. The assistant warden appoints inquiry committee on the particular matter.
•Attend meetings with warden and meetings with administrative staff members and provost.
•Ensure management of mess making ready and give recommendation for its improvement.
•Authorize maintenance of discipline and decorum in the common room.
•Ensure and develop plan for the overall security of the hostel and coordinate responsibility with the administration of the University.
•Play lead role and instruction in the selection of newspapers, magazines and arrange disposal of old newspapers, magazines.
•Complete of other duties as needed or as assigned by the warden and Provost.
