Authentication technique with OTP

<div><p>Final year project that I completed individually. The project is an Android App that uses authorization technique with OTP. The user's mobile phone will work as the authentication device, in which the user have to enter a 4-digit PIN code to generate an OTP that can be used for login. This is done by any mobile supported application running on the phone.</p> <p>Scope of the Project: The scope of the project is pretty wide as there is a lot of planning, documenting and project goals involved. A database is to be developed and a .net or Php server is to be established in order to get the app running. Any changes in the project requirements will be stated clearly and applied at the right time. After making the user interface and all the pre-requisites of the Android app, I linked it with the server so that the app can send and receive requests.</p> <p>The one-time password algorithm will be executed at the mobile and server at the same time in order to initialize synchronization. During this process, a secret number will be generated and this will only exist on the user’s device and will be used later for verification process. The project can be used in any organization where there is a risk of sniffing, phishing or any similar kinds of attacks as to maximize the security.</p> </div>
