I am a highly experienced and self-motivated professional with over twenty-two years of dedicated work in the development sector. My expertise lies in successfully managing projects focused on promoting the inclusion of marginalized groups such as women, persons with disabilities, minorities, and transgender individuals. I am committed to ensuring their political, legal, and economic participation while safeguarding them from gender-based violence and discrimination.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated proficiency in project implementation, management, reporting, monitoring, evaluation, as well as contracts and grant management within NGO/INGO settings.
My work has a strong emphasis on social protection, gender-based violence, and safeguarding. I have an established record of engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including parliamentarians, policy makers, elected representatives, media, lawyers, law enforcement agencies, government officials, project partners, and donors. I have designed and executed capacity building training sessions for various groups, such as parliamentarians, lawyers, media personnel, police officers, community groups, government officers, and elected representatives of local government.
My skills extend to drafting laws, bills, and rules, as well as conducting legislative and policy research. I possess the ability to write comprehensive reports and analyze existing laws. Successfully completed and spearheaded a project for promoting democratic local governance (DLG Project) with 1.3 million (euros) fund in 4.5 years funded by European Union. Managed subgrants to a network of 15 CSOs working in 15 districts across 3 provinces and a team of 21 persons.Key Responsibilities: Supervised and managed project activities. At the outbreak of COVID 19, prepared a mitigation plan for smooth implementation of project. Responsible for program reporting to EU, and built collaborative rapport with the local partners and European Union Delegation in Pakistan. Represented FNF Pakistan at national and international forums. Conducted capacity building trainings for partners on periodic basis. Responsible for ensuring M& E of the project.Developed an evaluation process for the project Managed project budget and expense. Remained primary contact and ensured appropriate liaison and reporting to EU. Prepared all reports for donor in accordance with the contractual agreements and ensured compliance of all EU regulations and BMZ regulations with respect to its funding. Conducted field visits in three province on periodic basis & provided technical support to partners in 15 districts for smooth program implementation.
Managed sub grants to local NGOs, supported and coordinated with Election Commission for the emancipation of women, minorities and persons with disabilities in the electoral processes. Reviewed policies to ensure gender and inclusion in all program and policies of IFES.· Credited for organizing first ever international conference on the inclusion of ersons with disabilities in Electoral processes in Pakistan; also provided technical support to IFES in areas of gender and inclusion· Provided technical support in setting up a Gender and Inclusion Wing in Election Commission of Pakistan.Reviewed electoral laws from the gender and inclusion perspective and propose amendments thereof.
Exercised hands-on approach and effective controls to manage and coordinate with a network of 30 FAFEN NGOS (Free and Fair Elections) in 90 districts of Pakistan to ensure tasks and activities are accomplished under the project.
· Executed capacity building program for the sub-grantee organizations; conducted due diligence of potential NGOs to be included in the FAFEN network as well as monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
· Prepared and executed “Voter Education” strategies and activities, based on demographic surveys and cultural differences in more than 90 districts of Pakistan implemented by FAFEN (Free and Fair Elections Network).
· Devised strategy for increasing role and participation of women both in urban and rural areas of the country. FAFEN is now a sustainable network of +40 NGOs; has become a Trust (TDEA) and is playing a watchdog role in the governance of the country.
· Developed media campaign and assisted in formulating public service messages, documentary and talk shows for television and radio for voter education.
Built and maintained collaborative working relationships with participating political parties and other stakeholders. Conducted assessments, surveys, skill-based training, seminars and workshops with political party participants to enhance women’s representation.
