I have received a master's degree in Muslim Cultures from the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations, UK. I have inadequate but rewarding work experience as I have worked with the Aga Khan Education Service Pakistan as the copy-editor for a research study, 'Diamond Jubilee to Diamond Jubilee A Journey of Inspiration that aimed to evaluate the impact, trace the history, and highlight the contributions of Aga Khan Schools towards education and economic development in Pakistan since their establishment. In addition, I developed a booklet for the project launch of the impact study that highlighted the achievements of AKESP over the years.
I have also worked as the Project Supervisor with Voluntary Service Overseas, Pakistan on a DFID funded project, Pakistan Youth Initiative, and have worked closely with youth groups to tackle development related issues at grass-roots through arts, music, sports, workshops, and dialogues in some of the most marginalized communities in Rawalpindi. I also facilitated trainings of youth on Resilience, Social Cohesion, and Active Citizenship to instill a sense of ownership in them. I addressed some of the challenges relating to youths contribution in the development process and ensured their active participation in the promotion of social cohesion by preparing them with the tools of dialogue, mediation, and dispute resolution, creating an awareness of their rights and enabling them to take ownership of their respective communities. Moreover, I mobilized youth and communities to bring them on a platform so that they can identify issues regarding peace and community resilience in their areas and propose possible solutions for them.brMy past experience also includes working with Bytes for All (B4A) which is an Islamabad based Human Rights NGO that focuses on advocating digital rights, freedom of expression, and civil rights to digital privacy, ending technology-driven gender-based violence, community development, and network building at the regional and global levels. I worked with Bytes for All as the Project Coordinator and Documentation Officer for a project, Digital Safety for Journalists in Pakistan in collaboration with DANIDA and International Media Support in Pakistan (IMS), to conduct capacity-building workshops on Digital Safety for journalists/media professionals and prospective journalists across Pakistan. These training workshops aimed to build up journalists' understanding of the significance of Digital security, assisted journalists in Pakistan with improving their digital safety and helped them in enhancing their digital safety practices in their professional life. My work has involved carrying out field research on the digital security habits of journalists, planning and conducting digital security trainings, and carrying out documentation and reporting work for the project.
I have excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills and am extremely committed and passionate towards my work that is portrayed by the tasks that I carry out with minimum supervision.
In addition, I have multiple skills such as developing communication material including presentations, videos, publications, posters, and digital photography.
I have worked with the Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan (AKDN) to document and compile an impact study, 'Diamond Jubilee to Diamond Jubilee: A Journey of Inspiration’ that aims to evaluate the impact, trace the history, and highlight the contributions of Aga Khan Education Service towards the education and economic development in Pakistan over the past years.
