I am passionate in everything I set my mind to and need to be part of something that is challenging so it can help me grow. A job is more to me than means to an end, it is personal growth and an opportunity for learning.
As a key team member in the REMIT program funded by the UK’s FCDO, I play a vital role in supporting Output Leads through effective management and coordination in the project workstreams of Investment, and the cross-cutting themes of Gender & Inclusion, and Communication. Working closely with the Project Management Unit, I ensure timely delivery of outputs, contribute to project planning, implementation, and monitoring, conduct research, and synthesize project data. I also coordinate inputs between output leads and stakeholders, assist with project management activities, and organize meetings and events.
Deputy Project Manager for a WFP-funded project in Sukkur, Pakistan - in rural Sindh, a high-risk poverty-stricken area. The activities of the project consist of three cycles of cash transfers, training on alternative livelihoods, and light structural work. This role includes the supervision of a team of 35 people - field teams, engineers, trainers, MEAL assistants, and HR. The DPM is also responsible for internal and external communication (with donors) and providing daily reports along with data on project progress. Safeguarding and accountability are taken very seriously as the project requires direct and personal contact with beneficiaries and cash. Trouble shooting, problem solving, people management, time management, and ensuring deliverables before deadlines are integral for smooth implementation.
As Senior Projects Officer, I supervise, monitor, follow-up, and trouble shoot all projects of ACTED Pakistan alongside the Projects Coordinator. Some of our notable donors include the UN, BHA, WFP and ECHO. Liaising with them is a major part of my role in order to ensure the smooth implementation of our projects. I represent ACTED as a member of the Communication Working Group led by USAID and also have the honor of representing ACTED as Secretariat of the Cash Working Group led by WFP. Meanwhile, I supervise PMFs of all projects and coordinate with PMs and Flats to complete them in a timely and accurate manner, including regular detailed follow-ups. I lead the Weekly Coordination Meetings and provide support to PD as needed by writing reports, case studies and conducting kick-off meetings. Making routine field visits to provide PMs support and evaluate progress is also a major part of my role.
