Steel door manufacturing plant requires production manager. Successful candidate will have managed a team of 50 plus workers in steel industry. Will be familiar with steel fabrication, cutting, bending and welding of steel sheet products. Should also be familiar with metal pre-finishing and powder coating. Manager will have a personal assistant, department supervisors and support staff.

Duties:

Liaise with sales staff to set work schedule.

Schedule production in each department so work flows at required rate.

Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures, records and reporting.

Hire and fire production staff so as to maintain and improve staff levels and skills.

Maintain staff discipline and team ethic. Monitor and report on staff retention, attendance and job satisfaction.

Monitor and maintain safety protocols and procedures.

Ensure all tools jigs fixture and equipment are properly maintained.

Plan and implement improvements in plant layout, jigs, fixtures and equipment.

Aid in setting production budgets, monitor expenditure vs budget.

Regularly report, clearly and concisely, to upper management, on all aspects of plant performance.
