Requirements and Skill Set
- Should have bachelor degree with minimum four years of experience in fiber planning specifically for access fiber networks such as FTTx in a Pakistani Telco.
- Excellent understanding of access network planning and FTTx network structures
- Ability to convert abstract information to concrete proposals matching Access Networks Solutions
- Should have strong knowledge and experience of various fiber types, deployment mechanisms, ROW rules and regulations and OSP processes.
- Analyze NW element utilization and propose expansion accordingly
- Review and analyze demand forecast received from business unit
- Experience in complete bidding process with budgeting, RFx, evaluation, sourcing and contracts.
Job Descriptions:
Reporting to SM fiber network planning, Manager access network planning will be responsible for
Collection of requirements from field for new OFC deployment, rehabilitation and preparation of project and budgets.
Preparation of RFx including scope of work, technical specifications, terms and conditions relating to technical and commercials for fiber network expansion, new deployment and fiber rehabilitation of access network projects in accordance with the ODN design.
Preparation of acceptance test procedures for fiber, its components and deployment.
Assists GIS teams in planning and updating of PTCL footprint through latest tools and procedures
Alignment of fiber designs with other network domains like transmission, IP, access for resilience
Ability to conceptualize and define fiber architectures with optimization and synergy amongst PTCL existing resources Ability to identify engineering risks and associated solutions
Plan, organize and prioritize workloads in order to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks
Understand and participate in the development of Network Planning strategies and plans and participate in the achievement of objectives and targets
Prepare the documents against which procurement, implementation, contracts, and other financial commitments will be made regarding services, supply and turnkey.
Provide support for internal organizations to aid Engineering, Operations and business development.
Assist in providing cost and technical solutions for non-standard or complex customer orders.
Work with other team members and groups to develop scalable network designs, solutions and policy recommendations
- Available for periodic travel as needed to other PTCL offices, site survey, trials, tests.
- Excellent communication skills to co-ordinate and assist the field teams and ability to meet the target lines
Education:
Minimum of Bachelor degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from HEC recognized university
No. of years of Experience:
3+ years’ experience in relevant field
