Assist in devising a coherent network strategy for IP and Transport domains:

· Participate in design activities within IP and Transport domains

· Recommend new technology trends in IP, Broadband and Transport networks

· Prepare plans to develop a future-proof broadband IP and Transport network

· Drive IP and Transport network design initiatives as per strategic direction set by management

· Prepare technical specifications for products to be deployed in the edge layer

· Develop plans to synergize IP and Transport resources

· Prepare IP and Transport network roadmap and align respective planning teams accordingly

Essential Knowledge

· Experience in network planning/strategy for fixed and wireless converged networks

· Strong knowledge of broadband network architectures, technologies, and products, Metro Ethernet, BRAS/BNG, DPI, Multicast, AAA, DNS, CDN, Cache etc.

· Strong knowledge of design principles for IP Core, Aggregation and Access including resiliency, high-availability and security considerations

· Broad experience and deep understanding of Transport technologies, SDH, DWDM, OTN, ASON, MPLS-TP and Synchronization - BITS, SyncE, NTP

· Knowledge of IP/MPLS protocols IGP/BGP, IPv6, LDP/RSVP, Traffic Engineering, VLL/VPLS/VPN, IP and MPLS Multicast, QoS

· Knowledge of SDN/NFV applications in IP and Transport networks, convergence and multi-layer optimization

Qualifications

· Bachelor degree in Electrical/Telecom/Computer Engineering

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in carrier/vendor in Transport and IP Planning, Design Strategy role

· Good presentation and documentation skills

· Experience of working with industry leading vendors is desirable

· Understanding of project life cycle including RFP, SOW, Technical Evaluations, RAM etc.
