Punjab Saaf Pani Company – North (PSPC-North) has been mandated by the Government of the Punjab to plan, design, manage and execute innovative safe drinking water solutions to over 56 million people in rural areas of the Punjab province. PSPC-North is looking for a dynamic professional for the following position;

Manager Design and Specification shall provide technical assistance to the Projects & Services Department. He/she shall primarily be responsible for assisting the Projects and Services Department in the execution of its core function. The technical knowledge shall help the department in understanding the TORs and evaluating the effectiveness of the technologies and methodologies employed.

Technical Advisory

1. Analyze EMCs design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and resource requirements of designs and constantly review the designs to identify and implement cost savings and performance improvements.

2. Responsible for the development and maintenance of technical documentation as required, including CAD drawings, costing data, technical construction files, design calculations, bills of materials, technical specifications, marketing literature, test data etc.

3. Report any technical risks in EMCs designs to the Regional Director Projects & Services.

Contract Management

4. Oversee that the designs proposed by EMC comply with design specifications of PSPC, checking and validating designs and drawings where required.

5. Carry out Quality Control Reviews of water for the completed projects and communicate the findings of such reviews to the Regional Director Projects & Services from time to time.

1. Ensure the consistency of all designs proposed with PSPC’s requirements and recognized engineering standards.

2. Preparation of technical evaluation report in collaboration with Projects & services department and communicate it to Chief Technical Officer.

3. Monitor the progress of projects after inception, to design through to construction and handover.

Other Responsibilities

4. Ensures design files and information are kept up to date and stored properly.

5. Coordinate with the relevant Regional Director for technical trouble shooting of the completed projects.

6. Make recommendations to the Regional Director in light of the independent evaluations carried out.

7. Remain cognizant about developments in water treatment technologies, primarily the economical solutions.

8. Coordinate with EMCs and GM Projects & Services about design requirements and clarifying design issues.

9. Provide technical support in Project related matters.
