Purpose of the Position:

The Project Engineer based in Jhang would be expected to provide support to Donor funded WASH Program in accordance with organization guidelines. She/he will be responsible for working with communities in collaboration of social mobilization unit and design local projects in accordance with organization vision, mission and objectives. Following this, (s) he is to follow organization's systems and procedures in technical matters; mainly related to organizational development.

Major Tasks:

As part of the programme management unit and under the direct supervision of the Project Manager the incumbent will have the following responsibilities

Provide engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for the successful implementation of the projects.
Complete knowledge of surveying techniques and procedures is essential.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, planning, implementation and technical feasibility for project proposals
Determine staff input and time requirements for project construction, implementation and supervision
Establish strong liaison & linkages with PHED, LG&CDD, DDMA, District Administration, District Health Office, District Education Office, and other stakeholders in the project location
She/he shall at all times know progress of the ongoing projects with respect to planning and should be able to give details of why project ahead/behind schedule at all times
Provide complete support during supervision of constructions; carry out quality control inspections and monitor progress• Provide basic technical trainings to the local communities for the sustainability of the CPI projectsand where possible develop and propose new projects
To ensure the construction of safe and low-cost toilets as per project requirements and community needs
Support in the technical session in community conducted by Filed engineers and Social mobilization team through development of session contents and manuals as required.
Carry out (participate) in technical assessments at field level.
Conduct the sanitation marketing assessments. If required
Support to supervisors for conducting the feasibilities and technical surveys
Support in proper handing over of WASH infrastructure to community-based organizations or committees.
Ensure quality assurance and quality control of the contractor's work through following their work plans..
Work closely with the social mobilization team in proper identification of the targeted villages as per TOR of the project
Assist the Project Manager in other tasks and perform other related duties as required by the Senior Management and other donors
Will support in designing community appropriate designs based on demand and supply in sanitation sector through the provision of catalogues of toilet designs, trainers guide and ensure provision of materials.
Actively participate and support in TOTs of the community technical personnel like masons etc
