QA Manager

Rezaid is seeking to hire an experienced QA Manager to join our Lahore office. Working in an agile software development environment, the individual will define the test strategy and approach for all Rezaid products, provide quality assurance and ultimately be responsible for ensuring product quality.  

This is a hands-on job that requires strategic thinking and planning to provide leadership and expertise throughout the entire QA lifecycle. Involvement begins at the business requirements gathering stage.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Develop and drive a high-level QA strategy, taking a proactive approach
• Black box tester. Thoroughly understands the complete end-to-end functioning of a product from the customer perspective
• Defining Business Requirements and Functional Requirements documents, and ensuring that software performs as documented
• Scheduling assigned tasks and updating technical manager on progress
• Defect reports that enable problems to be recreated and well thought out workarounds for customer issues
• Testing strategies, test plans and test cases written in compliance with relevant organizational and industry standards
• Lead efforts to develop, document, and implement applicable QA processes and procedures to provide more effective quality methods within the group in support of providing quality products
• Create, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems to ensure compliance with software/system specifications
• Develop software quality test plans and test cases and lead in setting and maintaining the standards for Software Quality Assurance test documentation
• Be highly committed to creating world class automation for regression and feature testing
• Design, implement and maintain comprehensive test plans to ensure software requirements are met
• Collaborate with developers to improve overall product quality by emphasizing defect prevention throughout the development process
• Anticipate potential software problems by creating exhaustive test scenarios that ensure comprehensive testing
• Test web applications
• Document all testing results in conjunction with test plans
• Identify and analyze defects/test results and be able to deduct the chain of events leading to a failure
• Identify areas for test improvement through analysis, experience and use of metrics
• Educate and train peers and subordinates on the QA process
• Participate in daily scrums
• Manage processes for moving applications from test to production environments
• Provide regular reporting metrics
• Manage time off requests for staff and ensure office coverage is maintained
• Provides significant influence on Marketing requirements documents, reviews and gives feedback based on broad and deep product knowledge and understanding of customer issues
• Champions customer requirements throughout the development process
• Collaborates to achieve end-to-end product and process quality
• Strong writing skills, expected to write user specifications documents, direct input into functional design documents, and produce well-written client proposals
• Effectively uses test automation to increase the thoroughness of testing
• Creates clearly documented personal and project goals, plans, designs and results and communicates to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Expert understanding of testing web services
• Expert understanding of web security testing best practices
• Experience with automated browser testing tools such as Selenium
• Software testing fundamentals including the concepts of both positive and negative testing
• Expert understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Expert understanding all aspects of the product end-to-end from both customer and internal viewpoints
• Excellent spoken and written English skills
• Instrumental in the implementation of process improvements
• Must be strong black box tester; must know automation

Hiring Standards Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years testing/QA experience with at least two years in a management role. Must have proven experience using QA tools, packages, and methodologies during this time frame.
• Must have experience working in an Agile software development environment (scrum preferred) including design, testing, deployment, maintenance of test scripts and documentation activities.
