Bid writers are likely to be responsible for 2 or more selection questionnaire or tender responses, potentially needing to contribute several thousand words to the bid. They need a strong understanding of writing for bids - how to maximise points and bring together the evidence that is needed (based on the written requirements from the client) to score well. Whilst industry knowledge is not essential, experience of writing bids for the public or private sector would be extremely helpful.

The succesful Bid Writer will be execpted to chair meetings with the COO, CEO and other senior members who will need to be asked key questions to build up an understanding of their expectations and conclude with a solid understading of the prospective client and expectations.

They will work as part of the bid team throughout, having access to the people they would need to speak to in order to best prepare their drafts. For each engagement, we could share with the market high-level statements of what is needed - eg, estimated number of pages/words and deadlines. We would be open to bid writers taking on only part of the overall requirement (ie, using multiple bid writers to fulfil the entire requirement, if the brief or deadlines cannot be met by just one bid writer or company). We could not share details of specific questions until engaged, due to commercial considerations.
