KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Lead the research officers in conducting baseline and endline surveys to assess reading levels and reading comprehension of children in targeted schools of Quetta.
Coordinate with the linguistic (Brahvi, Pashto and Persian) departments of University of Balochistan for development of language and learning materials.
Organize and facilitate in training of para professional and community volunteers to undertake reading activities in schools and communities.
Provide technical support to research officers in field.
Monitor and support community volunteers in organizing community reading groups and conducting sessions.
Visit schools and assess teachers and students in class.
Provide support in selection of materials and books for book banks.
Regularly document project interventions, analyse data and prepare analytical reports.
Take a lead role in organizing seminars and policy dialogues.
Network with stakeholders to advocate on importance of mother tongue as medium of instruction in schools in early grades.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Post graduate in education/social science or related discipline.
Three years of experience in research and advocacy in education; experience in the area of mother tongue will be preferred.
Effective communication, networking and presentation skills
Leadership and management skills.
Data analysis and research report writing skills.
Familiar with the social, cultural & political environment
Read, write and understand local languages
Proficient in MS Office.
