Responsibilities:

Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them.
Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration.
Assist other departments in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary.
Provide clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee their timely execution.
Design, build, and maintain tools to automate operational processes and support developer operations.
Help migrate existing applications into Kubernetes.
Work on and educate the development team to identify and remove performance bottlenecks, scaling chokepoints, single points of failure, and to optimize our software and systems.
Stay up to date on relevant technologies, trends, and opportunities to ensure we always use the best possible techniques and tools.
Work closely with engineering professionals within the company to maintain hardware and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently.
Mentor and train others throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide.
Work alongside teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives.

Qualifications:

Hands-on Experience of managing Kubernetes Clusters. Candidate should have 1 year of experience here, so this person can spin-up, maintain, scale, monitor and troubleshoot production grade clusters.
They must know the fundamentals and actively work with it. Not just started learning, or know something about it.
Advanced Docker knowledge and day-to-day experience with it. Candidates should be able to containerize the app of any technology, know the best practices.
If they claim they have done it in the past, we expect them to demonstrate this experience.
CI/CD. Ideally, they have Gitlab.com CI experience, and that would include experience of production deployments. Other CI software is fine too.
Micro Services/ SOA - experience in building stacks and CI/CD for microservices would be a great plus.
The company decided to move forward with Lumen and Angular, therefore, we would prefer candidates who have experience with PHP and NodeJS.
3+ years’ experience with one of the following languages: JavaScript, Golang, Python.
5+ years’ experience with Linux systems, administration, operations, and networking.
5+ years’ experience managing and configuring AWS.
Experience with Heroku or platform.sh implementations is desired.
Experience with setting up micro services structure and apache kafka is desirable.
Strong experience managing distributed messaging through a broker, preferably RabbitMQ.
Strong experience supporting large SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
Experience with build automation tools, preferably GitHub Actions.
Experience with configuration management and workflow automation tools.
Direct experience monitoring and supporting a highly available web application at scale is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required or equivalent.
Experience with Redis and Elasticsearch is a plus.
Any IoT experience is a huge plus.
