We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our Database Team in our Lahore Office.
- As a database administer, you will be responsible primarily responsible for the maintenance and performance of databases, to ensure the availability and optimal performance.
- This includes proven track record of writing SQL DDL and DML.
Job Role and Duties:
- Strong proficiency in MySQL and Document database management.
- Managing large scale MySQL databases and high transaction volume.
- Experience with Replication and Cluster configuration in MySQL.
- Hands on experience with designing and implementing database replication strategies.
- Knowledge of MySQL Enterprise Edition would prefer.
- Knowledge of defector standards and best practices in MySQL.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users.
- Maintain an optimized SQL environment, health monitoring and housekeeping.
- Maintain data standards, including adherence to all Privacy laws.
- Ensure database security, including backups and recovery.
- Script and maintain test and demonstration datasets.
- Automate archival and / or obfuscation of old data.
- Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
- Production support, problem diagnosis, problem resolution.
- Ability to work independently, are flexible, self-motivated and a team player.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Database Administration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer science.
- Demonstrable experience as a Database Administrator. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, edge devices, IoT, KPIs and analytics, and similar concepts.
- Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
About Schedule!
Working Hours and Schedule:
- 40 plus hours per week - Must be willing to work overlapping hours as needed
- Monday to Friday
