The Location: Islamabad, Pakistan

The Team: We are closely knitted Architecture team, looking for SOA Engineer (Integration & Messaging Platform). We analyse, design, implement, and support a number of key business critical systems. We work on messaging platform background and provide day-to-day operational support, design, deployment and further improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Work together with various domestic and overseas teams across the organization to ensure all applications under team ownership i.e. Docker, APIGEE and whole Messaging Platform is reliable, fully operational, performant, and meets business requirements including our committed SLA.
• Conduct and assist in conducting regular capacity analysis and POCs.
• Assist various DEV and QA teams during their development and testing following the Guidelines provided.
• Develop and maintain the SOA and Messaging framework (Java and .NET C#) currently being used by various internal customers within S&P Global
• Work closely with supervisor/manager in day to day operation activity.
• Monitor SOA & Messaging platform and conduct routine platform maintenance work for smooth operation with guaranteed uptime
• Onboard applications to the platform as and when needed with high priority.
• Provide support to the production, DR and all lower environments making platform stable and highly available achieving SLA for smooth and reliable platform operation.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering or in equivalent discipline is required

• We are targeting candidates with 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Great analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrated success as a problem solver, operating as a client-focused self-starter.
• Ability to adapt different learning paths and learn new technologies with minimum guidance.
• Ability to resolve serious technical assignment through various techniques, including testing, debugging and profiling.
• Experience in Java or C# development especially with focus to the middle-tier. Proficient with modern IDE(s), i.e. Eclipse, Visual Studio, NetBean, JBoss, etc.
• Strong concepts on OS and working knowledge on Linux/Unix and Windows OS.
• Understanding of product versioning, packaging and deployment.
• Strong experience on application deployment and monitoring.
• Knowledge of system architecture and good understanding of service oriented architecture(SOA) – i.e. Service abstraction, System Integration, Reusable Designs, etc.
• Understands well the SOA constructs and tools – i.e. XML, WSDL, WADL, JSON, Web Services, RESTful services, SOAP, etc.
• It's desirable to have a
• Experience on Messaging platform with Sonic or Apache Kafka.
• Experience or exposure to API Gateway management.
• Containerization/Docker knowledge.
• Have experience on administrating platforms;
• Excellent communication (written & verbal) and collaboration skills;
• Detail-oriented and a good great teammate;
• Willing to learn new technology and acquire new skills
