Specialist Finance

The Role:

As a Specialist Finance, you will be maintaining accounting and financial records, performing routine financial operational activities, ensuring all work practices, processes and procedures are in line with requirements of the jurisdictional rules of the country, company policies and procedures. In addition to this, handling external financial reporting for all jurisdictions in which S&P Global operates.  

The Location:

Islamabad, Pakistan.

Work Shift:

This is a Morning shift position. You should be flexible to work on any other shift depending on the business need.

The Impact:

Being a Specialist Finance you shall be handling monthly accounting close activities including the posting of journal entries and account reconciliations. Maintenance and testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations. Part of the corporate team-leading various activities in different domains of Finance.

The Team/Business:

The Finance department is responsible for accounting, financial reporting & analysis and internal controls for all of the commodity groups and the functional departments. Finance team strives in providing governance and assistance in the maintenance of accounts related policies and methodologies. The Finance team is also responsible to ensure compliance to local rules, regulations and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:

• You would be dealing with Account Payables while maintaining strong internal controls
• You will deal with all the taxes and returns including vendor reconciliations and WHT returns
• You will be involved in monthly closings
• You will be managing provident fund affairs

Qualifications:

• CA Inter or ACCA qualified with either (1) minimum 3-year article-ship completed from an audit firm  OR (2) 3-5 years industry experience
• Excellent attention to detail with good communication skills
• Strong command on MS Excel (If statements, pivot tables, V/H-look up)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good working knowledge of Tax laws, applicable corporate laws and provident fund rules.
• Prior working experience of managing provident funds (preferable but not mandatory)
• Attention to detail
• Good analytical skills
• Should be a team player
