Internal Audit Manager

An established medium-sized Tier-1 footwear retailer is looking for an experienced ‘Internal Audit Manager’ based out of their Karachi office. The incumbent of this position is expected to help build and manage an internal audit team consisting of juniors and interns, define processes to maximize transparency and oversee and manage inventory, cash and salary audits in addition to conduct cash/bank reconciliations for all our retail stores including the head office. The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications/characteristics:

· Minimum 3-4 years work experience with strong exposure to the retail industry – strong preference for prior experience of managing internal audits in a footwear retail organization

· Very strong background/experience of leading and managing inventory audits is a must for this position – this position requires a very diligent physical work ethic in addition to the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time

· Extensive prior experience of using Candela by Lumensoft for purposes of inventory audits will be considered a strong asset

· Hours of audit occasionally tend to be anti-social including late night sitting

· Evident knowledge of the latest best practices that are prevalent in the industry to establish strong internal controls

· Must be able to demonstrate high integrity with an enterprise-first mindset

· Visible passion for maximizing transparency and curbing potential fraudulent activities

· Prior experience of conducting interviews to hire junior audit personnel is an added asset – the candidate is expected to actively help recruit junior auditors and interns, when required

· Strong appreciation of the need to extract maximum cooperation from stakeholders, many of whom possess limited levels of literacy is essential

· Take ownership of developing a calendar for audit activities in addition to defining detailed processes to optimize audit procedures
