Job Title:        Solution Engineer  

Reports To:    Managing Director / CEO  

Department:     Sales & Engineering

Summary:   This Solution Engineer will be focused on showing the value of your product to the customers. They have the time to become a trusted advisor to each of your prospects and fully own the technical part of the pre-sales journey. Not only pre-sales but the person should be comfortable assisting with Sales meeting, presenting at webinars, and should be in product meetings as the voice of the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Fully aware of data center products like storage devices, offline and online data backup.
  • Expertise in Data center technologies, Virtualization and with the knowledge of network security along with firewalls and load-balancer.
  • Diagnostic abilities with attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to explain date center solutions to the customers. The incumbent must be capable to give presentations to the C-level executives.
  • Assist in streamlining support processes of StoneFly products and services. The incumbent will work with our sales managers, helping to better understand our customers’ needs, build custom demos based on gathered requirements, present solutions to prospects to demonstrate StoneFly and add technical depth to the discussions.
  •  The incumbent must be will be technically savvy as well as sales-focused, who is comfortable working with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Tech to bridge technical gaps to our prospects and customers.
  • Collect requirements from multiple teams by paying close attention to new product feature releases, soliciting and listening to feedback, and monitoring demo use and success.
  • Should be able to work closely with functional managers and team and can play a role of bridge in passing the communication smoothly and swiftly.
  • He/she should be able to give the guidelines to the team on responding opportunities, speak to customer and helping them in resolving their issues in best possible way.
  • Should be able to report regarding the performance of team on regular basis
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  •  Able to resolve conflict within a team and motivate them to achieve desire results
  • Capable of product configuration using product configurator/ Calculator
  • Strong knowledge in Systems and solutions relevant to configuration and specifications.  
  • Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, and customer organizations to resolve potential technical deployment obstacles.
  • Identify customer challenges and advocate for their needs with cross-functional teams (i.e. Sales or Software Engineering).
  •  Solution Engineer will be customizing their demo based on the needs of the customer. As much information the sales people can give them prior to a demo will help them customize the presentation and tie the values to that prospects needs. They will also be doing discovery live during the demo, constantly asking questions to ensure the demo is tailored for the people on the other end.

Job Specifications:

Education: Bachelor's in the relevant field of IT with prior customer services / Pre-sales / Business Development experience

Experience: At least 2- 5 years of prior customer services / Pre-sales / Business Development experience      

Skill: Engineers must have a mixture of technical skills, business acumen, sales acumen, presentation skills, and situational awareness. Experience selling into the IT industry preferably worked in US market. Love solving problems using technology creatively and perhaps unconventionally.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships
