1.

1.       Maintain external relations of SZABIST;

a.       Develop policy framework pertaining to external linkages for all SZABIST campuses. 

b.      Keeping the memberships of SZABIST with the national and international associations’ current and valid.

c.       Facilitate participation of faculty/staff members in seminars/conferences conducted by the above-mentioned associations.

d.      Assist in analyzing, and preparing feasibility reports for collaborations and signing of MoUs

 

                                                              i.      Conduct preliminary meeting with the external stakeholder to understand intent of collaborate.

                                                            ii.      Conduct in-depth analysis of the prospective collaborations and academic initiatives to facilitate decision-making. If necessary, obtain legal assistance on the MoU.

                                                          iii.      On approval of senior management, organize MoU signing ceremony in coordination with the external stakeholder. 

                                                          iv.      Follow-up on implementation of the MoU.

                                                            v.      Renew the MoU, on approval of senior management.

 

e.       Liaise with national and international academic institutions, NGOs, and associations interested in collaborating with SZABIST.

f.        Facilitate requests of having presentations/seminars of external stakeholders in SZABIST.

g.      Conduct business intelligence for new pursuits of academic collaborations for fulfilling institutions objectives.

h.      Develop policy framework governing scholarships, liaising, reviewing and signing of MoU/MoA/Articulation Agreements for all SZABIST campuses.

i.        Tapping new opportunities for SZABIST through public relation activities.

j.        Increase PR representation at various events, conferences, and workshops.

k.      Actively seek partnerships with various external (corporate, NGOs, academic) agencies for scholarships (university advancement).

l.        Engage in the PR activities for prospective linkages.

m.    Facilitate stakeholders with holding seminars, workshops, awareness campaigns to uplift SZABIST profile, and create a positive image.

n.      Create opportunities through PR activities for trainings/workshops of faculty/staff.

 

2.       Provision of SZABIST Need-Based Scholarships to students;

a.       Ratify interview evaluation sheets.

b.      Serve as a panel member for interviewing students for award of scholarships.

c.       Finalize the merit list in consultation with, Committee Members and Finance Department as per the budgetary allocation, and seek approval from the President.

d.      Prepare and justify budget proposal each year considering delayed external funded scholarships in consultation with the Finance Department.

e.       Update the policy of SZABIST Need-Based Scholarship in light of new academic developments, and subsequently make provisions in the budget.

 

3.       Facilitate provision of External-Donor Funded Scholarships;

a.       Serve as a panel member for interviewing students for award of scholarships.

b.      Recommend and justify selection of students to the stakeholders.

c.       Verify reporting of the academic progress of scholars, invoices for tuition fees, and fund utilization reports, and provision of pertinent information.

d.      Participate in meetings and events organized for deliberating on policy framework and similar aspects.

e.       Follow-up on release of merit list, and funds, if required schedule meetings for such follow-ups.

4.       Undertake monitoring and evaluation visits of the external-donor agencies.

a.       Give guidelines or preparing necessary presentation, or reporting.

 

5.       Establish, oversee, and provide guidelines to ERFA Departments in SZABIST Campuses

a.       Assist campuses in establishing an ERFA Department with all the components present in Karachi Campus.

b.      Assist the departments with university advancement.

c.       Administer procedures for awarding scholarships and maintaining region-relevant external relations.

d.      Diversify portfolio of scholarships and international and national academic-pertinent linkages.

 

6.       Reporting departmental progress on external linkages and scholarships to senior management for BOT, BOG, and Academic Council Meetings, and other academic departments for subsequent reporting to relevant regulatory authority.
