These new posts will support our regional manager, covering the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Pakistan. The new staff can be based in either the ME region (or Pakistan for the Pakistan role) depending on the location and right to work of the preferred candidate.
The ME Regional Office is part of a network of offices that cover China, Africa, SE Asia and the Indian Subcontinent Countries, and are part of the University of Essex Communications and External Relations Directorate (CER), which is responsible for:
Student recruitment and outreach
Philanthropy and Alumni Relations
Admissions
Marketing and Communications.
This primary focus of each position will be student recruitment. This will include working directly with prospective and current students as well as other key stakeholders including agents, schools, alumni and institutional partners. The post-holder(s) will also help develop and maintain new relationships within the education communities within the regions and support promotional campaigns and events.
The position will involve extensive travel (20 weeks per year), both domestic and international.
The post-holder(s) will report directly to the ME Regional Manager and work closely with staff in the UK, particularly those involved in the areas listed above. These are new positions which forms part of a wider expansion of our regional operations in India, China and MENA and as such, responsibilities and projects may change.
Recruitment and conversion
Attending education events tradeshows, conferences and interview sessions
Supporting agents and other key channel partners. This will include providing information, training and a high level of customer service and key account management
Maintain contact with individual applicants to support conversion
Using internal and external data to monitor market and channel pipelines
Supporting the admissions process in the region
Identifying new recruitment opportunities and partnerships and reporting on these
Marketing
Working with the Regional Managers and colleagues in the UK to help create integrated marketing and recruitment campaigns
Supporting digital marketing activity. This may include creating digital assets and content for social media and advertising campaigns and liaising directly with enquiries
Helping develop and organise University events in the region including inbound visits from academic staff and senior management
Stakeholder engagement
Working across external groups, the regional team and internal staff teams based in the UK to ensure our work with stakeholders is connected at all points
Supporting our Alumni Relations plan by engaging with alumni in the regions
Working with schools and institutional partners with whom the University works closely as well as helping identify potential new partners
Providing customer service to current and potential students and their families
Information and reporting
Contributing to market intelligence by providing information on market trends and competitive positioning in the regions
Recording information from recruitment events and campaigns and ensuring this complies with the necessary data-protection guidelines
Contributing to regional reports, budgets and marketing plans using a data-driven approach
The Recruitment and Development Officer (s) will work on a full-time basis and the post-holder will have to demonstrate initiative.
