Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

TimeSolv Corporation has emerged as the leader in time & expense tracking, billing, and management needs for businesses around the world. We are a fast moving SaaS company that develops Time and Billing solutions for customers around the world.We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead software development. Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role. We expect you to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.

Main Responsibilities

Development and Process Execution - deliver per road map and sprint plan

• Ensure continued and efficient use of agile scrum process for bi-weekly product releases
• Evaluate technology problems and create manageable solutions
• Leverage advanced knowledge and skills to carry out product design through the entire software life cycle
• Monitor and direct all changes in system design and architecture
• Work closely with Sales and Marketing to define and deliver new features and enhancements

Technology Leadership

• Develop & Lead the execution of technology strategy of the company while keeping it aligned with business objectives and company’s growth strategy
• Develop all technical aspects of the company’s strategy to embed in the ongoing development of the company’s product
• Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company’s product in the competitive landscape
• Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage to company’s product
• Forward-thinking, CTO will identify opportunities to utilize and implement emerging technologies into the company’s software development operations

Team Development and Tech Leaders

• Develop a team of technically sound professionals while providing them a conducive working environment
• Develop the technical growth roadmaps for every team member
• Providing guidelines and helping the team to grow technically as per the defined roadmap
• Working with HR to improve team’s soft skills
• Developing successors and backups to ensure deadlines are not impacted and continuity of business as usual while individuals are progressing to new levels
• Hiring & Retention of key technical individuals

Process Development

• Establish and implement company-wide standards and practices related to the organization’s technologies
• Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and software engineering operations
• Consistently evaluates technical efficiency and makes changes as necessary

Security

• Develop and direct safeguards to reduce the risk of security breaches and protect client’s information.
• Develop & implement Disaster Recovery Plans in the instances of a security breach

Budgets

• Manage the financial aspects of technology development and implementation by managing operating and capital budgets
• Determine how to best allocate funds toward building effective technologies, and perform careful analysis and forecasting of return on investment for the company’s technologies

Job Specification   

• 10+ years of formal and relevant education (Advanced Degree Preferred)
• 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience (5 years working as a CTO/Technical Leader/Technical Director)
• Advance IT Knowledge with critical thinking and technology analysis skills
• Experience of cloud technologies (Cloud Computing: SaaS, IaaS and PaaS)
• Hands-on experience in implementing new development methodologies
• Moderate knowledge of information security protocols, data protection, and system security      
• Excellent knowledge of Desktop, Web & Mobile App Development using following tools & technologies:
• Outsystems v10+ Web and Mobile Development preferred
• SQL Server Database Management and SQL
• Java (J2EE, J2SE) & Java Frameworks
• C# on .Net platform
• Windows Server, IIS, Linux, Apache Tomcat.
• Cloud Hosting - Amazon EC2, RDS, S3, EBS, Elastic Beanstalk
• Networking - Amazon VPC, ELB, Security Groups
• REST and SOAP Web Services
• BIRT Reporting Tools
• HTML4/5, XHTML, Ajax, JavaScript, Json, JQuery
• XML, JAXB, JAXP, and XML Schema
• Eclipse IDE
• Experience in 1 or more technology stacks MVC Patterns / ORM (Dependency Injection DI/ Inversion of Controls IOC)
• Worked with Android, Scala, Python teams
• Hands on knowledge of Software Engineering, Programming Skills, SDLC, Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
