Operating system Ensure that the Banner system is online and accessible to college campus constituents 24/7 Keep the database managed to peak performance, monitor daily system performance, and tune the database when necessary
Responsible for backup and recovery strategies Install and configure Ellucian products as required by the college, such as ESM and Application Navigator
Clone and refresh databases from the production environment to development and testing environments
Manage patches and upgrades to the Oracle databases and Banner
Work closely with other IT staff to insure that interfaces are working properly
Troubleshoot various areas of the operating system and the database
Act as a technical consultant and trainer when necessary
Maintain various security grants and roles for the Oracle database structure and within the Banner security construct
Perform technical activities related to the design, analysis, development and tuning of the Banner ERP system, and provide related reporting and analytics
Create documentation and standards to facilitate smooth operations
Perform other duties as assigned
May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed Qualifications

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE

Oracle RDBMS Oracle WebLogic Application server Tomcat and Apache Web Servers Banner 9 Ellucian Ethos Ellucian Solutions Manager CAS LDAP Java XSL XHTML Linux shell scripting, GIT and other technologies related to Ellucian Banner 9 Strong ability and the desire to learn new and unfamiliar technologies is preferred
