This position’s main responsibility is to identify client needs for a software and transform it into a series of documents to help the software development lifecycle. Person involved in this position will be involved in the following activities of the SDLC:
Marketing: Helping in preparation of product web site, product brochures by writing content. Developing news items for finished projects for newsletters.
Pre-sales: Presentation of similar projects and related products to the prospects on visits. Engaging in Proof-Of-Concepts engagements held in client premises. Making demo’s for client presentations
Sales: Developing proposal scope, initial high level implementation plan, licensing requirements
Project initiation: Help in development of engagement contract,
Requirements gathering: Organizing meetings with stakeholders for capturing requirements and turning them into an SRS document.
Development: development of functional specs and screens. Validating them with the stake holders.
Coding. Coding necessary parts of the application
Testing: Preparing test cases and test plans. Executing test cases.
Deployment: Providing training material and giving training to end users.
Support: Understanding support issues and organising necessary action to a support request
Change management: Capturing detailed scope of change requests.
People management. Managing performance of direct reports. Team management. Task assignment. Quality reviews of code and various deliverables. Taking part in hiring and performance appraisal process.
Customer management. Preparing change requests, proposals for customers. Attending to meetings.
