R&D Manager / Senior Chemist

Vertex Chemicals (Pvt) ltd. is a leading construction chemicals company in Pakistan, providing a host of chemical solutions for improving, repairing, protecting and decorating of construction assets. Our clients/portfolio includes many of the most iconic names of Pakistan including Bahria Icon Towers, Nestle, Tarbela Hydropower dam, Lahore Orange line, Shaukat Khanam Hospital and many more.

We are searching for a highly motivated chemist who thrives being hands-on and experimental, with solid experience with thermoset resin based coatings and adhesives. More importantly, the candidate should be comfortable with research methodology to back up out of the box ideas. This is a very research-intensive role and the candidate should be able to base hypotheses on intensive secondary research.

Responsibilities

· Undertake research related to the formulation, characterization and performance testing of products, as per established goals.

· Ensure that product formulations are feasible for production, while keeping costs and risks minimal

· Work collaboratively with marketing team to understand market conditions as well as client requirements to help formulate.

· Diligently maintain archives of experimental research, reports, samples and prototypes

· Actively contribute new ideas for internal innovation Centre on new commercial products.

· Supervise activities of Quality Control personnel for all outgoing material.

· Strong Excel and Presentation skills

· Solid Project management skills

· Demonstrable leadership skills
