Senior Import Officer

Responsibilities:

Follow-up on import shipment statuses after confirmation of LC, ensuring shipments are dispatched on time, highlighting any delays in the schedule to relevant decision-makers.
Work with forwarders to ensure the fastest and most economical shipping method.
Update the imports dashboard, keeping all stakeholders including operations, R&D and senior management up to date.
Check shipping/import documents and ensure there are no mistakes before dispatch.
Work with company-approved clearing agent(s) to ensure timely and cost-effective import clearance.
Handle logistics from port to company-designated warehouse(s)
Ensure data entry into ERP is thorough and on time.
Ensure proper documentation and record keeping as per set SOPs.

Qualifications:

Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 4 years experience in import operations and documentation.
Must have direct experience working with import clearing agents.
Analytical personality with strong Excel skills.
Experience using an ERP would be highly beneficial.
