Taxation Manager Job Description:

The Tax Manager is responsible for the Company’s tax compliance, tax planning, accounting for income taxes and preparation of tax returns.

A good Tax Manager will always be abreast of emerging tax laws as well as optimum tax planning and saving provisions.

For a Tax Manager the aim of the role is to comply with all necessary tax legislation but make any savings that minimize tax bills for business and individuals where possible.

Tax Managers compile all required government documents concerning taxes and offer solutions to pressing tax problems and are the point of contact for dealing with HMRC.

Tax Manager role, duties, and responsibilities

A Tax Manager will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:

Gathering necessary data for the preparation of self-Assessments SA-100. Drafting Accounts and Tax returns for the Individuals, Soler traders, AOP’s and Partnerships.
Preparation of CT600 ( Corporate Taxation ) with proper knowledge and understanding of corporate sector and capital allowances.
Maintaining Control sheet of Individual clients as well as company clients on day to day basis with their updated information’s.
Coordination with clients through emails regarding issues in tax matters, HMRC correspondences and companies house matters.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns, including corporate tax, VAT, and payroll taxes. Review tax computations and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with UK tax laws and regulations.
Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and optimize its overall tax position. Identify opportunities for tax savings or incentives, considering changes in tax legislation and business operations.
Assess potential tax risks and exposures, keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations. Develop and implement internal controls and processes to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with tax obligations.
Manage tax audits conducted by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and handle any tax disputes or inquiries. Provide necessary documentation and support to defend the company's tax positions.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to provide tax advice and support for business initiatives, transactions, and projects. Collaborate with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities as required
Stay updated on UK tax laws, regulations, and rulings. Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues, providing recommendations and guidance to management on their implications and potential impact on the business.
Liaising with third party professionals including solicitors, other accountant, tax advisers and independent financial advisers.
Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional growth.
