Software Architect

Contract or Full time position for a FULL MEAN (Mongo, ExpressJS, AngularJS, NodeJS) and LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack developer to join our Product team! Our current products has been in the lab for two years with Current Stack as LAMP. We are moving towards MEAN, with current Angular implementation on way as a preferred framework. We would like you to guide the existing LAMP stack development team to integrate/transition toward full MEAN technology.

Personality: Someone who could win a Hack-a-thon on any given weekend

Summary of Job Description:

HANDS-ON Experience MUST:

· 5 years of building enterprise level web applications

· Implement MEAN Stack

· AJAX

· RESTful APIs

· Expert Level Java Script

· HTML5

· Ecommerce and CMS application development

· Design and Development on AWS

· Create Architecture Designs

· Create Release management plan

A good eye for design and an understanding of what makes a UI usable.
Experience with automated testing and the ability to write your own unit tests, preferably with Jasmine/Karma.
An understanding of the intricacies of simultaneous development for both desktop and mobile targets.

· Ability to work with distributed remote development teams

WORKING knowledge is a PLUS:

· Google Cloud

· Frameworks (Laravel, CakePHP, Codeigniter, Symfony)

· Knowledge of the Ionic Framework a plus

· Alexa

· Stripe

Functional Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy highly scalable, complex applications
Help develop a quickly growing engineering team
Conduct code reviews and design sessions
Work in a highly collaborative, mission-driven, agile product team
Identify and implement solutions in conjunction with, or independent of a development team
Consult with designers, developers, and other architects to evaluate and develop product specifications
Track project status and communicate progress effectively to internal management and external stakeholders
Develop, test and review code and applications
Integrate with web testing services for unit, functional, and scalability testing

Additional Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years experience architecting, developing and deploying software solutions
Familiarity with Agile software development processes including SCRUM
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or similar field preferred
Expert proficiency in full stack architecture and design
Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming and MVC architecture
Extensive experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript and MEAN stack development
3+ years of Rails and/or JavaScript Frameworks (Angular or React)
Experience with relational databases like MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
Experience with Behavior-driven development (BDD), Cucumber or RSpec
Working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) platforms (CircleCI) and Source Control systems (Git)
Working knowledge of common architectural patterns, design patterns and best practices
Ability to create and review architectural diagrams, flowcharts, and roadmaps to identify completeness, areas of concern, and use of best practices
Experienced in the software development process, microservice architecture, rules framework, API, interoperability, scalable cloud platform, and distributed architecture
Working knowledge with cloud deployment and modern DevOps tools and practices
Demonstrated expertise in complex systems design
Ability to rapidly assimilate new technologies and quickly contribute to a world-class engineering team that delivers high-quality code, consistently
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks as well as changing priorities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
