Zeta Technologies is looking for a creative and proficient Chef In Charge for one of its Dubai based Client located in EMAAR.

Ideally the Chef In Charge should have all aspects of food preparation. You will be “the chief” and maintain complete control of the kitchen

The incumbent must have a vast knowledge in a fine dine and quick service food restaurants.

Innovative and self-driven with strong communicational skills & high customer interaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards

• Supervise kitchen staff’s activities

• Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion

• Arrangements for equipment purchases and repairs

• Recruit and manage kitchen staff

• Rectify arising problems or complaints

• Give prepared plates the “final touch”

• Perform administrative duties

• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

• Expertise of making different local and international cuisines and fast food and drinks

• Keep time records

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales

• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients

• Cook food in a timely manner

• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff

• Inform waiter staff about daily specials

• Ensure appealing plate presentation

• Supervise Cooks and assist as needed

• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)

• Monitor food stock and place orders

• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items

• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

• Sound knowledge about the laws and regulations decided by Food Department

• Ability to manage an entire kitchen

• Budgeting skills to control costs

• Incredible food preparation abilities

• Ability to handle multiple tasks at once

• Deep knowledge of the food industry and trends

• Incredible time management skills

• Ability to create new menu items

Requirement: 10 years’ experience as Main chef independently in a fine dine and quick service food restaurants

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Culinary arts /Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary Arts Management
