Position Objective

Lead in the implementation of Health and nutrition interventions by ensuring technical coherence of the interventions, overall implementation of H&N activities under the project for humanitarian relief for Afghan Refugees and Host population in selected districts 

Mission 1: Provide technical program quality oversight on health flood relief interventions

  • Health and Nutrition Manager is responsible for:
  • Plan, supervise, monitor, and give technical inputs for flood relief medical camps with implementing partners
  • Frequently accompany the mobile health health teams for quality assurance of medicines, services etc
  • Draw up reports for the health related activities as per ACF formats and coordinate regularly with MEAL team for provision of data
  • Plan and facilitate capacity building training for ACF and IP staff as needed
  • Liaison with relevant government departments and donor agencies for coordination, documentation, sharing of information
  • Contribute in the revision of monitoring and program tools in collaboration with the MEAL HoD, Health Manager, and build capacity of trained staff and volunteers on the new tools and procedures 
  • Ensure implementation and quality of mission strategic objective /SO: Nutrition and Health.

Mission 2: Provide technical programme quality oversight on nutrition and health interventions in selected healthcare facilities and community level

Health and Nutrition Manager is responsible for:

  • Plan, supervise, monitor and give technical inputs for health care service provision at selected healthcare facilities.
  • Ensure regular monitoring and technical supervision for PHC at the selected HCFs
  • Technical lead for CMAM and IYCF-E, support and monitor the health supervisors for implementation of outreach components in selected districts for program implementation (operations and quality implementation).
  • Plan, support in selection of participants, curriculum contextualization, TNA and ensure delivery of health and nut related trainings as a part of project implementation
  • Conduct capacity building need assessment and establish technical areas that requires training and on job support among the team.
  • Ensure that project IEC material for Health & Nut is standardized
  • Contribute in the revision of monitoring and program tools in collaboration with the MEAL HoD, Health Manager, and build capacity of trained staff and volunteers on the new tools and procedures 
  • QA of healthcare service delivery by the Implementing partners
  • contribution to the program integration with Nutrition, Health, FSL, WASH and other cross cutting issues with the aim of ensuring integrated and holistic approaches.
  • Liaison with relevant government departments and donor agencies for coordination, documentation, sharing of information
  • Ensure implementation and quality of mission strategic objective /SO: Nutrition and Health.

Mission 3: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality and child protection sensitivity

The Senior Nutrition and Health Manager is responsible for:

  • Read and ensure a full understanding and promotion of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries
  • Ensure and encourage the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability. 

Qualification and experience

  • MBBS/MD with valid registration
  • MPH/Master in hospital administration or other relevant qualification will be preferred
  • 4 years working experience with atleast 2 years as administrative manager for health related activities
  • Experience of working in nutrition programs will be an added benefit

Skills and resources needed to perform the function

  • Able to analyze and summarize complex technical  and contextual information
  • Fluent in English, reading writing and speaking and/or local language of the program implementation area
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills
