- Needs to know planning and scheduling techniques and have a wide range of problem-solving techniques.
- Preforms supervisory activities of production schedules, quality expectations, organizing resources, controlling work flow, production standards, resource utilization, employee training and employee performance.
- Knowledge of all printing processes, paper, and materials and is familiar with the equipment owned by the company.
- Inventory, research and order supplies as required.
- Communicates effectively using a broad range of communication styles, presents ideas effectively in formal and informal settings, conveys thoughts clearly and concisely, listens well and keeps everyone informed.
- Hire adequate staff to meet anticipated production levels.
- Ensure that new hires are properly trained in all facets of their job.
- Ensure that the quality of the finished product meets/exceeds our customer’s expectations.
- Responsible for seeing all jobs meet schedule, and if not, provides 1st shift Production Managers(s) of change in schedule.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
- Must be flexible in working a variety of shifts, as needed.
- Work closely with Production Manager, Pressroom, Prepress, Mailing and Bindery leaders and other departments.
- Performs other work-related duties as required and instructed by the Production manager.
