The Utility and Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing and administering all procurement related activities for the chemical plants. Purchases goods or services for their employer to use or sell.

Ensures employer obtains quality products for competitive prices in a timely fashion.

Plays an integral role in ensuring a company sticks to budgets and operates profitably.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaises with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
  • Hands-on experience of Cooling towers, boilers, chillers and RO plants.
  • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
  • Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
  • Identifies and researches potential new suppliers
  • Researches new products and services to meet company's goals
  • Assesses total costs of company purchases
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels
  • Oversees a team of purchasing agents (in large companies)
  • Reports to the chief procurement office
  • Serve as the organization’s representative for the finance department on procurement issues and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate new policies and procedures regarding procurement processes.
  • Conducts analysis of program policies and procedures, develops plans, formulates guidelines, implements new developments and procedures, and provides policy interpretation for finance to purchasing customers within corporate guidelines.
  • Prepare program guidelines, status reports and presentations for Finance and executive staff.
  • Process account applications and maintenance actions, and maintain accounts database.
  • Monitor approval of accounts to maintain an appropriate degree of control over vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate daily duties of procurement support staff.
  • Participate in developing requirements and be involved in the automation/test of procurement and logistics software
  • Assist in developing training material, preparing lesson plans, and overseeing procurement training.

Skills and Qualifications:

People Person, Good at Networking, Hands-on experience of Cooling towers, boilers, chillers and RO plants. Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills, Data Analysis, Superior Organizational Skills, Good Business Instincts, Mathematics Skills, Good Negotiator, Financial Analysis Skills, Understanding of Supply Chain Management Procedures, Logistics Skills, Strategic Planning Abilities, Knowledge of Supply Management Software (Database Management, Inventory Management, Financial Analysis, Point of Sale, Procurement, Project Management, and Enterprise Resource Planning, and General Office Programs), Specialized Industry Knowledge, Experience as a Procurement Clerk or Junior Buyer, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Applied Science, or a Related Field, Especially Those Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) will also be more advantages.

Qualification:

  • Candidates should be at least MBA/Master/Bachelor Degree Holder from HEC recognized university.

  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Travel

  • This position requires up to 50% travel and company will bear all travel expenses and fuel allowances. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.
