Chef / Cook

We are looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers/staff. Chef responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. You should be familiar with sanitation regulations. Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.

Responsibilities:

Chefs work with other kitchen staff to ensure that your kitchen runs effectively and they have to be experts at ensuring food quality and maintaining kitchen equipment.
Ensure that all dishes are cooked well and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way
Oversee food preparation, checking that all kitchen staff are performing their duties.
Monitor equipment quality and order new equipment as needed.
Help the restaurant determine how much food and supplies need to be ordered.
Train new kitchen staff as required.
Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales.
Cook food in a timely manner
Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
Supervise other Cooks/kitchen staff and assist as needed (Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests reduce salt, remove dairy)
Monitor food stock and place orders
Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
Proven/Hands-on work experience as a Chef or Cook
Familiarity with sanitation regulations
Culinary school diploma preferre
