WordPress Developer

Digital Graphiks, a full-service digital agency in Karachi Pakistan, is looking for senior and mid-level WordPress Developers to join our growing technology team. At Digital Graphiks, WordPress Developers use the world’s most popular open-source content management system to bring human-centered designs to life in a browser.

Areas of Competence and Understanding:

Strong front-end development skills with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Strong understanding of PHP
Develop, deploy, and maintain site architecture and content using WordPress
Develop and maintain proprietary and 3rd party themes and plugins
Design and implement new features using WordPress concepts such as custom post types and short codes
Handle security and backups for WordPress sites
Deploy, configure, and build sites, handle security risks and issues and maintain backups
Has experience in developing Multilingual WordPress sites.
Experience with version control systems
Experience integrating third-party APIs
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React is an advantage
Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
Experience with source control tools like Git

Preferred experience:

As a WordPress Developer, who will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including forming WordPress themes and plugins.
Experience in PHP, HTML, CSS and JS development, ideally with considerable experience working with complex WordPress projects
Custom Plugins Development
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React is an advantage
Familiarity with automated deployment systems
Experience of planning and monitoring software delivery and testing
Experience developing accessible web solutions
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
Understanding of internal and external business requirements
Solid understanding of technical on-site SEO
Solid understanding of web security
Experience with SASS/LESS
Familiarity with DNS configurations, CDNs and SSL
Experience of working remotely & autonomously

Qualifications:

2+ (mid-level)/ 7+ (senior) years of experience in WordPress
Strong communication skills (both in person and in writing)
Has some experience working with REST APIs using AJAX and JSON
Solid understanding of MySQL
Firm grasp on modern best practices for analytics, SEO, user experience and online marketing strategies

Nice to Have:

Experience with and enthusiasm for one or more of the following JavaScript frameworks: Vue, React, Angular
Experience with Node.js, SASS (and/or LESS) and/or jQuery
