Business Development Executive

The Business Development executive is a member of the Funding and Partnership Development team. There is close interaction with other colleagues in the Head office and other district offices across KP & FATA. The Business Development Executive will report directly to the Director, Business Development & Funding based at Head Office.

In order to strengthen our work and ensure sustainability, EECHO is in process of adopting the Balanced Scorecard approach across its operations. This means that we are committed to an organizational culture of goal setting, including developing a smart and targeted funding strategy. The Business Development & Funding team is central to this process. This is an exciting opportunity for the Business Development Executive to contribute to the, implementation and integration of the balanced scorecard approach and roll-out of EECHO’s updated funding strategy. While in this strategic transition, the organization is still implementing multiple short and medium term project agreements. It is essential to ensure compliance and high quality reporting on the ongoing contracts, but with a clear view to secure better quality predictable, multi-annual funding agreements with key strategic partners in the long run.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Executive falls in the following broader areas:

1. Strategy and Programme Development

2. Outreach and New Funder Engagement

3. Programme and Bid Development

Some of the specific tasks includes but are not limited to:

• Identify and track relevant upcoming funding opportunities – through advance intelligence gathering, partner relationships, and other available resources

• Conduct prospecting visits to Organization’s Country Offices to identify and prepare for upcoming funding opportunities.

• Manage Action s for pre-solicitation proposal preparations and bid planning including: teaming, bid strategy, development of win-themes, oversight of and contribution to technical design, drafting management and other sections of the proposal in advance of the solicitation.

• Manage major open solicitations and other proposal submissions, including teaming agreements, oversight of technical design and cost proposal, PPRs, capacity statements, internal review/quality control processes, drafting sections of the proposal where appropriate.

• Represent the organization’s business development interests at relevant meetings, events, and within resource mobilization or donor-specific peer networks.

• Contribute to the expansion of the organization’s consultant roster for key technical and bid preparation functions.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate level degree in a relevant field of study, e.g. International Development, Management and Business Administration (essential)

Relevant Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including proven track record of producing high quality written materials and the ability to present complex, technical ideas in a compelling form to a variety of audiences (essential)

At least 5 years proven track record of fundraising from major institutional donors (essential) and from various funding sources (desirable)

Experience working for an international development focused organization (essential)

Ability to work with local teams in unstable and poorly served locations to produce quality results under tight timeframes (essential)

Proven ability to create and maintain positive partner/donor relationships (essential)

Environment Protection, Educational Promotion, Community Development and Health Care Organization (EECHO) is Non-Governmental Organization registered under the Societies’ Registration Act, XXI 1860 (180/5/6941) in the office of the provincial registrar Joint Stock Companies & Societies, Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. EECO Mission is to implement Evidence- based, culturally sensitive, innovative projects promoting agriculture development, food security, health, education, and community development according to perceived livelihood, food security, public health, educational, environmental, gender equality and social welfare needs and priorities as understood through the best quality research and assessments. EECHO have sound financial and management system and is equipped with experience staff both male and female. The organization maintains general body members which are responsible for establishing organization structure and assisting the organization toward attainment of the stated objectives, by all mean at their disposal. There are regular meetings for experience sharing and strengthening those areas where organization needs to improve their services at grass root level. The current, main operation area of the organization is the 26 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, and is also planning to extend its presence into the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
