A. Purpose of Job:
· Ensure that project meets its stated objectives
· Ensure project progress and smooth client interaction
· Take full responsibility of all project activities and deliverables
B. Main Responsibilities:
· Define and manage project scope
· Plan and supervise project activities
· Resolve conflict between team members and departments like QA and Dev.
· Resolve routine project issues during project execution
· Review key project artifacts and documents
· Manage project teams and resources
· Perform regular project communication with the client and management
· Report project progress to management and client
· Co-ordinate with PS and project team
· Understand the scope of the effort in terms of requirements, man-hours or functionality points
· With the help of relevant leads, determine scope and evaluate risks
· With the help of the relevant leads, define project parameters, i.e., time-lines, manpower requirements, risks, estimates, etc.
· Negotiate, establish, coordinate and oversee the projects deliverables
· Identify internal and external interfaces
· Prepare the project management plan
· Monitor the project, staffing plans, budgets, and minutes of meetings.
· Plan logistics, such as hardware, software, manpower, training, travel plans, etc.
· Use the issue log process for resolution and management of critical issues
· Single point of contact for the Client, as such coordinates with the clients and user community
· Communicate with client any feedback or discoveries that come from the team
· Act as the ”client” for the local project team
· Synchronize efforts in quality assurance of user documents
· Synchronize efforts in preparation of shipment package
· Ensure timely delivery of client deliverables
C. Minimum Skills Required:
1. Academic Qualification(s):
i. MS in computer sciences or related field
ii. Professional courses in management (PMP / PgMP / Prince 2 / Six Sigma)
iii. Professional courses in project lifecycles, organization, integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communications management, risk management, procurement management, earned value management, and configuration management.
2. Technical skills:
i. Must have good analytical and decision making skills
ii. Knowledge of development tools/platforms
iii. Structural knowledge of projects
iv. Proactive and goal-oriented: Must posses the drive to build something tangible and complete.
v. Good communication skills: In order to carry the vision to the development team and the client, must be capable of doing a lot of preaching, convincing, mentoring, and teaching.
vi. Sound presentation skills
vii. Well versed in the notations and process of object oriented development
viii. Be able to make engineering compromise necessary to cope with building systems for the real world
ix. Risk-aversive: Be on the lookout for and identify anything that adds risk to the project
3. Management / Interpersonal Skills:
i. Leadership skills: Must have the focus, confidence, charisma, and authority to drive the project
ii. Politically sensitive: Must understand that different groups have different and at times hidden agendas. Must be able to set expectations and manage conflict.
iii. Must be a good team player
iv. Must have drive to continuously improve upon his skill set and help others.
4. Experience:
i. Must have at least 7 years of experience as lead, managing multiple teams.
ii. Must have at least 3 years of experience in the project management position
iii. Experience in managing similar projects
