Experience: Ideally 1-3 years of experience in Accounts/Finance and local tax laws- preferable in an INGO.

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Finance / Part qualified ACCA or any related field will be a plus.

Salary: 120,000 – 150,000

Job Description:

AM - Subaward, you will report to the Deputy Manager Subawards and will be responsible for providing support in contractual sub-award management to the implementing partners, ensuring timing and accurate reporting and compliance; conduct quarterly site visits to each sub recipient; support financial audits of sub recipients.

Award Management:

  • Support in maintaining the sub awards / contracts file and managing them as per the instructions
  • Support in ensuring an overall compliance with donor rules and regulations as well as internal policies
  • Support in coordinating and make sure that SR reports are received on time and in accordance with the Sub Recipient Monitoring Tool;
  • Assist in generating and analyzing monthly and quarterly financial reports of the sub awardees; share and discuss the same with program team and flag issues in financial and operational management.
  • Support in coordinating and managing all aspects of sub agreement including advice and guidance on donor policies and procedures, compliance of reporting requirement and timeframes, submission of payment requests, and coordination of grant close-down processes.
  • Support in presenting monthly analysis of partner’s burn rate to the management.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly financial reports.
  • Assist in keeping track of the revisions of Grant/ Sub-award agreements.
  • Assist in maintaining agreement compliance worksheet for all partners.
  • Timely up-dation of share point for data backup.

Capacity Building

  • Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained for all sub awardees
  • Keep informed of the “best practices” in the grants management field and recommend improvements to the grants management process.         

Financial Management:

  • Assist in monthly analysis of expenditures, monitoring budgetary variance of sub awards.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets for sub awardees, forecasts and cash flows.
  • Support in tracking and tracing the funds provided to sub-awards.

Audit:

  • Supports in preparation and financial monitoring of financial condition of the sub awardees;
  • Extend necessary support activities in both external and internal audit
  • Conduct frequent site visits and ensure the compliance of SR monitoring toolsas per policies and procedures.

Others:

  • Support Deputy Manager Subawards wherever required for the project
  • Promote and demonstrate an ethical environment, in line with values of honesty and acting with integrity of the supervisor.
  • Any other work- related task assigned by the supervisor. 

What are we looking for?

The basics:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Finance / Part qualified ACCA or any related field will be a plus.
  • Ideally 1-3 years of experience in Accounts/Finance and local tax laws- preferable in an INGO.
  • Working knowledge of integrated, accounting system such as Quick books Enterprise, Lawson, or another ERP
  • Advanced Excel user performing functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, TRIM, MID formulas; “&” operator; pivot tables and pivot charts
  • Basic data analysis skills
  • Strong coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Passionate about working on international health and development, with a focus on all reproductive health issues.
  • Proven ability to work with many people across diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing deadlines while staying organized and paying special attention to details
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis software package such as SPSS, Stata
  • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary and international team
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and skills in knowledge transfer.
