What the first 30-60-90 days in the job will look like?
-Within 30 days you will:
Attend and graduate from our company-wide on boarding process along with detailed orientation program where you will learn Jazz’s values, business, and products. Meet with the People & Organization team to understand the strategy of the function in line with Organization strategy and company road map. Have meetings, with members of other teams to understand how each function at Jazz contributes to the overall success. Understand the function and processes of Back Office Operations department within Technical, role and responsibilities of team within organization.
 
-Within 60 days, you will:
Introduction to Jazz Transport Network, understanding detailed Network Architecture, Nodes and Develop concrete understanding of Jazz Change Management Policy, MW, Optical & IP network High Level Design & Low level design. Go through all the MOP & SOP of Transport Operations. Collaborate with Internal customers within Technology (Peer departments), stakeholders (Marketing, Finance and Commercial) and Vendor.

-Within 90 days to onwards you will:
Develop thorough competency on Transport Network Products. Would be able to perform O&M, Configuration Management, Fault Management, Performance Management, Network Audit, Health Checks, Vendor Management and Project Execution with great product knowledge. Continuously review and bring improvements to the Jazz Technology and Development framework and craft innovative solutions as per global best practices.

A bit about you:
We are looking for someone who has already worked for Transport Operations with hands on experience on Huawei, Ericsson & CISCO MW, Optical& IP nodes. Must have good configuration, troubleshooting & analytical skills. We are also looking for someone who has excellent communication skills to be able to promote the department and technology portfolio with professionalism, maturity, and a balanced, holistic view of any competing viewpoints and last but not the least, the candidate must be a good team player.
 
A bit about us:
Transport planning and operations department under Network Development includes end to end technology planning and Operations (Level-II) domain, mainly focused on new technologies deployment, network integrations keeping network fault free and up to date. Furthermore, customer complaints (commercial & corporate) are being handled by this department. We are focused towards aligning learning and contribute to business effectively while aligning their behaviors to Jazz values.

The structure of the team you will join is:
12-member team (including the Manager) with two sub teams i.e one for MW, VSAT & optical fiber active network and another for IP/MPLS network. Main tasks include day to day Operation & Maintenance of nationwide Transport Network and nodes, Customer complaints handling (corporate & commercial), configuration management, troubleshooting, interaction with vendor support teams for ongoing issues, projects, audits and upgrades etc. 

Essential skills must have: 
Solid base in Transport technologies like, MW, VSAT, IP & fiber optics and optical physics
Good understanding of SDH and thorough know-how of network topologies and their inter-working
Good understanding of DWDM and photonics
Excellent command over legacy Telecom protocols (PDH, E1, E3 etc.)
Hands-on experience & deep understanding of ADMs, Multiplexers, Multi-service/Multi-protocol Switches (e.g. Huawei, Ericsson, Cisco etc).
Hands-on experience of NMS systems and associated software tools, database, architecture.
Exposure of transmission sub systems, protocol and interface converters, etc.
Exposure to electrical & optical cables and knows associated installation standards and best practices.
Technologies – ASON, WSON, SDH, DWDM, MW protection schemes, Performance parameters
.
Desirable Skills:
Huawei, Ericsson and Cisco hands on with relevant equipment. Hands on Firewalls/security devices. Computer Proficiency, MS Office must include MS Visio & Power point.
Communication and presentations skills to make solutions/ideas understandable for respective audience segments
Should not have any concerns working in shifts round the clock and if required on holidays (including public holidays) as an emergency resource.
 
Job description includes:
·        The candidate would be required to handle day-to-day Jazz’s Transport network operations.
·        This will include support, operations, maintenance, administration, configuration, trouble-shooting, fault isolation and resolving transport network issues
·        Maintaining proper network documentation & schematics including all possible details
·        Operations & administration of the Hardware & software of: Transport network entities of any vendor platform
·        Effective coordination with Vendor so that root-cause analysis (RCA Report) can be done in shortest possible time
·        Ensuring high-availability of network to the end-users and business
·        Coordination with all relevant technology vendors for any support issues to make sure that Service Level Agreement are met
·        Comply with all the departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Method Of Operations (MOPs) during the execution of tasks and carrying out all job related duties
·        To implement corrective & preventive routines of maintenance by concern teams and/or vendors.
·        To analyze the network & equipment performance and identify engineering & optimization requirements by efficient use of TNMS and other software tools.
·        Ensure safety management, risk and hazard analysis and ensuring safety & security in the overall network.
