System Engineer / System Administrator

Please read the following carefully and apply if you meet the requirements.

Experience: 3 years

Education: BS in Computer Engineering / Computer Science

Mandatory technical skills (must-have):

Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of:

Linux OS distros (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu)
SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL) and DB engines
Database maintenance & optimisation
Shell scripting (Perl, Bash, PowerShell, Python)
Web servers (Nginx, Apache, IIS) deployment and optimisation
System performance & resource optimisation (Hardware, Kernel, OS services & processes)

Additional technical skills (preferable):

Servers and storage systems
Name services (DNS, FQDN)
Virtual computing (VMware, VirtualBox)
File servers (NFS)
Database backup and replication tools
Server & Network management/monitoring tools
Authentication, Authorization, and Directory services
Server-based (opensource) firewall & routers
Server hardening & security

Personality traits:

Sharp troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
Eagerness and curiosity to understand & learn new technologies and concepts.
Able to conduct professional work at customer site.
Willing to travel/visit customer sites as/when needed. Preferably have own conveyance.
