3 months General Surgery Department:
Actively participated in morning rounds and took Daily Progress Report of my beds. Procedures i did include: Nasogastric tube placement, Foley Cather insertion, Incision and drainage of carbuncle, observed and assisted in central line placement, Ingrown tow nail extraction, stitching of skin wounds.
3 months Ophthalmology Department:
Performed slit lamp examination, used direct ophthalmoscope for examining fundus, extraction of foreign debris and learnt management of common eye related diseases like conjunctivitis, blepharitis, glaucoma, stye etc
3 months Paediatrics Department:
Actively participated in morning rounds and took Daily Progress Report of my beds. Also did my emergency duties and learnt the management of common diseases like measles, bronchiolitis, febrile fits, gastroenteritis, neonatal sepsis, malnutrition etc. Also managed cases of drowning and organophosphate poisoning. Procedures that i did include; Lumbar puncture for CSF collection, IV cannulation, blood sampling, nebulization, CPR and CPAP. Also observed and assisted in intubation and mechanical ventilation.
3 months Internal Medicine Department:
I participated in morning rounds, put DPR of my beds and followed my bed orders. I learnt management of common diseases like typhoid, TB, liver cirrhosis, meningitis, strokes, Diabetic ketoacidosis, Ischemic Heart Disease, DVT, Pulmonary embolism, malaria etc. Did my emergency duties and was involved in management of emergencies like COPD exacerbation, Heart Failure exacerbation, Status epilepticus, Strokes, Hepatic Encephalopathy, Cardiovascular Accidents, DKA, Hypertensive emergencies etc. Procedures that i performed included Lumbar Puncture, ascitic tap and ABG\'s.
